Botulinum toxin is the UK’s number one method for treating facial wrinkles and lines. Wrinkles are caused by repeated facial muscle contraction during expressions. Over time these lines become deeper and more prominent. When botulinum toxin is injected into these muscles it causes them to relax, in turn causing softening or disappearing of the facial lines and wrinkles depending on their depth. Additionally in a trained practitioner’s hands, botulinum toxin can also be used to relax muscles and by the action of opposing muscles create lifting affects. Treatment duration varies, but typically one course of botulinum toxin lasts four to six months.
Dermal fillers are made up of a substance called Hyaluronic Acid. This substance is naturally found in our skin and gives our skin hydration and volume. As part of the ageing process our skin loses its elasticity and volume, leading to thinning and dehydrated skin which further contributes to wrinkle formation. Dermal fillers can be used to restore volume and fullness, thus giving a more youthful appearance. They can also be used to enhance our natural features and contours such as lips, cheeks and many other areas.

Selina qualified from The University of Birmingham in 2007. After completing her vocational training year she went into hospitals working as a Senior House Officer in Maxillofacial Surgery. In 2009 Selina did further studies and completed her Diploma of Membership of The Joint Dental Faculties with The Royal College of Surgeons. Selina enjoys all aspects of dentistry, particularly oral surgery. She enjoys working with families and children making their dental experience a relaxed and enjoyable one.
Selina has a keen interest in facial aesthetics and first became qualified in 2013. She has recently completed further training and qualifications in 2018. Selina is an avid member of the IAAFA (International Academy of Advanced Facial Aesthetics) and regularly attends conferences and courses to enhance her techniques.
